This policy explains what personal information Wooden Earth Ltd ("we", "us") collects when you visit or buy from woodenearth.com, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Name, email address, billing and delivery address, and phone number when you place an order.
• Payment details. These go directly to our payment providers — we never see or store your full card number.
• Anything you send us by email, contact form, live chat, or in a product review or blog comment.
• Your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser type, operating system, IP address, and referring site.
• Pages you view, products you look at, and how you move through the site.
• Cookie and similar identifiers — see Cookies below.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that make the store work:

• Shopify — hosts the store and processes orders on our behalf. See Shopify's privacy policy.
• Payment providers (including Shopify Payments and PayPal) — to take payment.
• Shipping and fulfilment partners — to get your order to you.
• Analytics and advertising providers such as Google and Meta, where you have accepted the relevant cookies.
• Professional advisers, or law enforcement — where we are legally required to.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where your information is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the provider concerned, typically no more than 26 months.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use:

• Essential cookies — to keep you logged in, remember your basket, and process checkout. The site cannot work without these.
• Analytics cookies — to count visits and see which pages are useful.
• Marketing cookies — to measure advertising and show relevant products.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the store from working.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your information, where we have no ongoing reason to keep it;
• restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to direct marketing at any time;
• transfer your information to another provider.

Email info@woodenearth.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with our response you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU.

Children

The store is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
